........Also.. Hardly any Shaky Camera shots. (this film can be watched without getting a Migraine).
Having said that, one of the worse things about this film Is: It was over two hours long. 90 Minutes would have been long enough.
The few who have commented so far, didn't think too much of this film. Neither do I, but IMO this was Not the Most Awful movie I've ever seen. For example: "BLAIR WITCH" for me, was painful, but I watched 'till the end.
I've been on both sides of the camera (but never quit my day job)- Never made any money, or got noticed, etc. - but it was FUN while I was involved. So maybe I just can't Trash anything; so if you have two hours with nothing else to do, get ready to view something that could have been made in the 50s.
Would I watch it again? Never. Would being numb Help? Couldn't hurt
MST3k2 shows stuff much worse then this, with bigger budgets; and lastly, during the 'dramatic' scenes, IMO the actors were really trying to Act.
At least this Group TRIED, and Released it, and got comments. Maybe their next attempt will be better.

Low budget filmmaker, JAYSON (Glenn Plummer) has made the movie of his dreams... but to his dismay, it can't sell in Hollywood. The distributors tell him "... you have nothing exploitative in your movie. Add some sex scenes, more violence, and maybe we'll buy your film." The distraught filmmaker approaches his neophyte, semi-psychotic producer, BRAVO (Blaine Cade) and tells him, "... put together a cast and crew... we're going to re-shoot and give them what they want!" Bravo nervously tells him, "We're out of money. " Jayson screams at him, "I don't care. Do WHATEVER you have to do!" Bravo enlists a young movie crew to follow them into the remote back woods of the Great Bear Mountains by telling them "There's no money, but when we sell this, you'll all get a big piece of the profits for your efforts... and great craft service!" Various 'B' movie actors, including stuntman BURT (Edward Hendershott), and his gorgeous wannabe actress girlfriend, ASHLEY (Linda Bella), join them as Jayson ...

I like the idea of this film, go back to the original and continue. The idea is exciting after a bunch of mediocre sequel/prequels.
This movie is good for around ten minutes... and then you are introduced to the main actors (if you can call them that).
They look good, hot bodies and the camera man definitely focuses on cleavage and butt shots.
That is the only positive I can find.
The negative: There is no talent, the actors have no chemistry, the idea is wasted but worst of all there is no pace to the story, no suspense or anything of the original movie that made it good. Avoid at all cost.

Storyline

After the first massacre in 1974, the townspeople suspected that the Sawyer family were responsible. A vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer house, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family. Decades later, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from her grandmother. She decides to bring her friends along on the road trip to investigate her inheritance. On arrival, she discovers she has inherited a mansion, but is yet to uncover the terrors that lurk in the basement underneath it.

Cast

Alexandra Daddario as Heather Miller: The film follows Heather, who is travelling through Texas with her boyfriend Ryan to collect an inheritance.
Dan Yeager as Leatherface: Luessenhop stated that he picked Yeager because he felt a sense of "menace" after witnessing Yeager's frame, "farm boy arms", and "brooding brow" stand "quiet and circumspect". He claimed he could no longer think of another actor afterward.
Trey Songz as Ryan: Heather's boyfriend, who accompanies her on the trip through Texas.
Scott Eastwood as Deputy Carl Hartman: Town deputy and Burt's son.
Tania Raymonde as Nikki: She is described as a "small town girl with an attitude", and the best friend of Heather.
Shaun Sipos as Darryl: A hitchhiker who catches a lift with Heather and her friends; Darryl "knows more than he lets on".
Keram Malicki-Sánchez as Kenny: Ryan's friend
Thom Barry as Sheriff Hooper: Town sheriff
Paul Rae as Mayor Burt Hartman: Town mayor and Carl's father.
Richard Riehle as Farnsworth: The Sawyer family lawyer.
Bill Moseley as Drayton Sawyer: Moseley is acting in place of Jim Siedow, who portrayed Drayton in the 1974 film and its sequel, who died in 2003. Director Luessenhop chose Moseley because he felt that he could portray the same "essence" that Siedow brought to the character. Moseley previously portrayed Chop Top in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
Marilyn Burns as Verna Carson: Burns portrayed Sally Hardesty in the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
John Dugan as Grandfather Sawyer: Dugan is reprising his role as "Grandpa" from the 1974 film.
Gunnar Hansen as Boss Sawyer: Hansen last portrayed Leatherface in the 1974 original film.
David Born as Gavin Miller. Foster Father to Heather Miller.
Sue Rock as Arlene Miller. Foster Mother to Heather Miller
